INTERDEPARTMENTAL POSTGRADUATE PROGRAM
The Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program (IPP) is hosted by the Department of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development of the School of Applied Economics and Social Sciences at the Agricultural University of Athens, in collaboration with the Department of Animal Science of the School of Animal Biosciences of the Agricultural University of Athens.

The specialization of graduates from agricultural, economic, social, and natural sciences at the postgraduate level in:
∙the management of livestock, aquaculture, and crop production businesses/services
∙the management of agrotourism/ecotourism enterprises
∙the provision of relevant technical and economic advisory services
∙rural development
Our graduates are active in strategic sectors such as:
∙Advisory services – Preparation of business plans, investment proposals, and provision of specialized consultancy
∙Agri-food sector enterprises – Management and development of livestock and crop production businesses
∙Banking sector – Evaluation of agricultural investments and financing
∙Local development organizations – Design and implementation of development programs
∙Innovative entrepreneurial activities – Establishment of private enterprises in the agri-food sector
∙Agrotourism and ecotourism – Development of alternative forms of tourism in rural areas

Students are offered a large and substantial number of thematic modules, with broad
scientific content covering both economics and management sciences, as well as
geotechnical sciences.
The Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program (I.P.P.) awards a Postgraduate Diploma of Specialization (P.D.S.) in “Entrepreneurship & Advisory in Rural Development “.
The duration for obtaining the Postgraduate Diploma of Specialization is:
∙Three (3) semesters for full-time study
∙Up to six (6) semesters for part-time study
